Domaine des Jeunes Pousses
The "Jeunes Pousses" (Young Shoots) project originated from the enduring friendship between Thibault Liger-Belair and Ivan Massonnat. Thibault conceived the idea of providing a complete estate to young winegrowers, offering them the opportunity to learn vineyard management before establishing their own vineyards. In 2015, Ivan, the owner of the Belargus estate in Anjou, became enamoured with this philanthropic initiative. Together, they embarked on the "Young Shoots" adventure, acquiring vineyards and a house to serve as the wine cellar.
This project grants young winegrowers 5.2 hectares of vineyards in Beaujolais, cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming practices, for a period of three years. By managing this estate and receiving guidance from those who supported them during their apprenticeship, the participants gain valuable experience. After three years, they will have the knowledge and resources to acquire or lease their own vineyards and establish their own estates.
From 2020 to 2022, Angela Quiblier and Hugo Foizel (the first generation) have taken charge of the winery. Angela previously worked at Domaine Leroy, while Hugo has experience at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.
From 2022 to 2025, Thaïs Lamy and Juliette Lumeau have taken over Angela and Hugo as the second-generation winemakers. Thaïs had worked for Domaine Dujac and Juliette was a sommelier in various wine bars and also had the opportunity to work occasionally in small family wine estates.
Their expertise contributes to the success of the "Jeunes Pousses" project, ensuring that the wines produced during this period maintain a high standard of quality and craftsmanship.
